"Artist Emma Hedditch has been researching cooperative work and organisations. She will share this research in an open public meeting where we will discuss how to develop the skills and training needed to create a cooperative structure, looking closely at how these methodologies can be brought into a context of artistic production.

We will look at the values and principles of cooperatives to think about how to become engaged in, or invest in, the organisation of institutions, and how our perspectives shift when we formalise our existing collaborative work. 

This is an act of resistance towards current forms of investor owned, corporate, for-profit business models that dominate most areas of life, including artistic practices and institutions.

Emma Hedditch is an artist and writer living in New York. Her work focuses on daily practice, materiality, and distribution of knowledge as political action. She often works collaboratively with other artists and groups, such as The Copenhagen Free University and Cinenova, a feminist film and video distributor.
