STOP CALLING ARTISTS ENTREPRENEURS or The Rise of the Rhetoric of Cultural Entrepreneurship in the Netherlands. It is time to debunk the myth of cultural entrepreneurship. Cultural entrepreneurship is a vague concept that transfers structural problems to invidual artists and is often at odds with fair practice. OPEN CALL FOR ROTTERDAM BASED ARTISTS for studio visits with curator and writer Abhijan Toto between 18 and 21 February 2023. DEADLINE: 30-01-2023. Abhijan Toto’s proposal seeks to operate as a site to continue ongoing conversations with three Rotterdam-based artists, having contributed to the Forest Curriculum: Gabi Dao (Unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations/Rotterdam); Fileona Dhkar (Khasi Hills/Rotterdam) and Gayatri Kodikal (DAI, 2020) (Goa/Rotterdam), and to further expand these dialogues by including other local practitioners.
