How the internet has reshaped the ways artists establish their reputations? As part of the solo exhibition Making Artworld/s at Tøn Gallery, Dublin, Tommie Soro (DAI 2014) is hosting leading academics and writers at Temple Bar Galleries and Studios to discuss how the internet is transforming the reputational economy of the artworld. Guests include Gregory Sholette, Andrea Phillips, William Deresiewicz and Mick Wilson. Artworld Reputation in the Digital Age will take place on Saturday 1st February, and Making Artworld/s continues until 10th February.
How do we face the multitude of losses and the rhetoric of despair that surround us? How can we manage loss (waste/d) and grief to turn it into "joyful militancy”? Yota Ioannidou (DAI 2009) as part of Temporary Academy of Arts (PAT) is delighted to announce that farasi.zine # 03 “Pethnos: a new research art project by PAT or the third generation which mourns commits suicide” is now online. Three meetings-discussions were organised with theorists and artists which focused on the concept/neologism Pethnos, a challenging association of pethnos (mourning) and ethnos (nation) as a key to open up our contemporary historical condition.
Former DAI COOP partner and still dear friend CASCO is thrilled to announce the publication of Unlearning Routines of the Impossible, a new book co-authored by artist and long-term collaborator Annette Krauss. The book features contributions from the Feminist Search Tools working group, Yolande Zola Zoli van der Heide, Nancy Jouwe, KUNCI Study Forum & Collective, and Ferdiansyah Thajib. Published by Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons and Minor Compositions/Autonomedia, and co-edited by Krauss and Janine Armin, it continues our exploration of unlearning practices within (and beyond) art institutions.
