The cheapest meat, commonly sold as a 'whole chicken’, provides the most common image of headlessness. In “Headflesh” the animal decapitates itself, but its wound is thriving and becomes a motor for movement. As a post-gender cyborg, genetically altered and abundantly multiplied, the chick/en/hen turns against the nuclear Oedipal family. Iga Śśćk (DAI, 2022) presents this performance, in collaboration with Miiel Ferráez (DAI, 2021) and commissioned by Tanz im August festival as a part of a parkour series "Interconnecting Dance & Ecology", on the final day of the festival (26.08.2023) in the Volskpark Rehberge, (sharp 14.00).
The paper edition of MetropolisM (August / September 2023) not only contains a text about Clara Amaral (DAI, 2019) and her book/choreography. There is also Jan Pieter 't Hart (DAI, 2022) who contributed the text Digitale distributie / Het online/ offline netwerk van Trust for which he engaged in conversations with several members of Berlin based para-institutional community Trust.
August 2023: the latest paper-edition of MetropolisM (Dutch language based Art Magazine) contains a portrait of Clara Amaral (DAI, 2019) and a reflection on her book / performance-script "She gave it to me I got it from her" ( which includes objects for which she collaborated with Olga Micińska (DAI, 2018)). The book was published by the Amsterdam based art initiative "Kunstverein". Domeniek Ruyters ( the author of the article) writes:" In these times where publishing needs to be for profit and is therefore increasinly dependent on the optimisation of reader outreach, this symbolic investment in in-depth attention is admirable. It shows that alternative economies of readership are possible - economies that are more connected to the nature and the meaning of "reading" than to the number of likes in the pageview statistics."
