DAI's roaming masters program convenes ‘learners’ dispersed across Europe for intensive group study and discussion via seminars, study groups and semi-public presentations (offering our hosts, often alumni and their friends and networks, at any given landing station, the possibility to join in). From May 11- 23, 2023, upon the invitation of the local cultural centre Amaneï, DAI students, tutors and guests are in Salina, one of the islands of the Aeolian archipelago.  ‘Learners’ here in reference to both DAI’s faculty and students, who share the process of "doing things with theory". Faculty members Dr. Amit S. Rai, Dr. Ghalya Saadawi, Dr. Hypatia Vourloumis, Dr. Ana Teixeira Pinto and Dr. Grant Watson are the curators of the Island Thinking Film & Theory Festival. All 5 are cultural theorists and philosophers who constantly broaden and deepen research alongside their students. DAI invited the participants of the Amsterdam based De Appel Curatorial training program to join us to Salina and to write short texts (which will be translated in Italian) to accompany the selection of the films which will be screened at two outdoor locations in Santa Marina Salina: the cosy public square in front of DAI's temporary headquarter Amaneï and a lovely miniature amphi-theatre in the garden of the Centro Studi, both kindly made available for study and screenings by the
