Anneke Ingwersen (DAI, 2014) is an artist, writer and educator born in Germany and now based in the Netherlands.
Through diverse media (installations, silhouettes, shadowpuppetplay, video, animation, photography) she investigates the shadow and the silhouette, as a method, material and a metaphor for questions of identity and diversity. To share her research on social-political topics Anneke Ingwersen has a regular social practice, initiating workshops with a public of all ages.
Recently Ingwersen works on the long term social-artistic project “Songs of Colonial Labour” looking more closely at folk- and children songs communicating values about labour and women.
Her work took part at screenings, shows, public events and publications at Sonsbeek 20<24, ExpoPlu, Sonsbeek‘16 TransACTION (NL), the Van Abbe Museum (NL), Summerschool TAAK at Marfa Texas (US), Museum Bronbeek (NL), Schloss Ringenberg (D), Malkasten Düsseldorf (D) and Blast (D), Museum Arnhem (NL).
In 2010 she got a stipendship of the Mondrian Fonds (NL) and in 2007 by Gap/Schloss Ringenberg (D). Ingwersen holds a BA in Art Therapy by HAN (NL, 2000), a BA in Fine Art by ArtEZ (NL, 2007) and a Master of Fine Art by the Dutch Art Institute (NL, 2015).
