Alfredo Cramerotti
Alfredo Cramerotti is a writer, curator, editor and artist working across a variety of media such as TV, radio, publishing, internet, media festivals, photography, writing and exhibition curating. He directs Mostyn, Wales' largest and leading contemporary art centre, co-directs AGM Culture, roaming curatorial agency and CPS Chamber of Public Secrets, media & art production unit (co-curator of Manifesta 8, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Region of Murcia, Spain, 2010). He is Research Scholar at the European Centre for Photography Research, University of Wales, Newport, Visiting Lecturer in various European Universities among others NTU Nottingham Trent University, University of Westminster, HEAD Geneva and DAI Dutch Arts Institute, and Editor of the Critical Photography book series by Intellect Books. Alfredo Cramerotti is a writer, curator at QUAD the contemporary art, film and media centre in Derby, UK and editor of the series Critical Photography at Intellect Books. His practice explores the relationship between reality and its narratives across a variety of media and collaborations.Among his recent research and curatorial activity: co-curator (CPS), Manifesta 8 European Biennial of contemporary art 2010-11; fellow art theory and criticism Künstlerhaus Büchsenhausen Innsbruck, Austria (2007-08); co-curator CPS Chamber of Public Secrets art & media production unit (2004-ongoing); co-director, AGM Culture annual, international symposium (2003-ongoing).
Alfredo has lectured internationally in art institutions, public galleries, photo festivals and media congresses, and published among others in Brumaria, Nolens Volens, Transmission Journal,Manifesta Journal, MOLE Magazine, Esse Arts+Opinions, Altyazi, Journal of Media Cultural Politics and Pages Magazine. He authored the book Aesthetic Journalism: How to Inform without Informing (2009). He is Visiting Lecturer in numerous European Universities.
