Nikos Doulos in Detroit
Expodium, platform voor jonge kunst, Utrecht, is setting up an exchange program in collaboration with 555 Gallery and Studios and The Yes Farm, both based in Detroit.
This summer, the exchange will start with two artists, Joao Evangelista (P) and DAI alumnus Nikos Doulos (GR), who will work in Detroit for two months. This visit will function as a pilot for a long-term residency-programme. They will be researching the act of co-existance and the ethos of spending time in the context of the city of Detroit and its community. Aware of the current over-representation of Detroit under the aesthetics of decay, they will be re-thinking that tendency, and beyond.
