If I Can't Dance I Don't Want to Be Part Of Your Revolution warmly invites all of us to the presentation of Toward a Transindividual Self: A Study in Social Dramaturgy, a book by Ana Vujanović and Bojana Cvejić. The authors will be joined by Sruti Bala, Marija Cetinić, and Antonella Fittipaldi, who will each offer reflections on different aspects of the book from the perspectives of their respective research and practices. The launch will take place at If I Can't Dance's space at WG Plein 881, Amsterdam, Monday, the 16th of June from 17–19:30hr (doors open at 16:30hr). The book examines the process of performing the self, introducing transindividuation as a new way to think about collectivity in 21st-century Western neoliberal societies. Taking a transdisciplinary approach—where political and cultural anthropology, performance studies, and dramaturgy intersect—the authors explore the transindividual formation of the self as a path toward a socially driven imagination, showing how ‘we form ourselves on the basis of interdependence, sharing, and commonality.’
