Astonishing alumni Cristina Ramos González (DAI 2022 - 2024) has been cooking up a storm since they were a student with us! Several projects they have developed recently are inspired by the teachings they received during their studies at DAI. They were resident editor at Barcelona-based magazine A-Desk, about the use of the voice in artistic practices. Snejanka Mihaylova (COOP tutor with If I Can't Dance from 2020 till 2025 ) also contributed!

"Sunsets are nature's great representations, repeated daily, each time different. We all carry at least one memory of a sunset. Its shifting light and dissolving colors evoke both wonder and unease, echoing finality even as they reassure us with their return. Yet the beauty of these colors is tinged with a sense of alarm. If we imagine the end of the world, would that final sunset be our last glimpse of the sun’s brilliance? Perhaps every sunset, in all its grace and romance, is already a quiet rehearsal for endings, an image of The End." ~ Starting from there, curator Rawad Baaklini brought together a remarkable group of artists, among them DAI's Noor Abuarafeh and Alaa Abu Asad (the latter with a painfully beautiful new work). The exhibition: Sun, Don't Rush to be Red. Son, Don't Rush to be Read November 15, 2025 - February 15, 2026 at TENT. Multi-talented, fiery current student Stellar Meris (DAI 2024 - 2026) recently published an article in UntoldMag titled 'A Journey through a Swiss-German Family Archive: From Colonial Palestine to Today’s Repression of Solidarity'. Through letters, photos, and memoirs, Meris unravels their family’s colonial legacies in Palestine and how Germany’s unprocessed guilt fuels its repression of solidarity and the rewriting of history'.
