Sonsbeek 2008: Grandeur ~ curator Anna Tilroe. Artists: Mella Jaarsma i.c.w. Nindityo Adipurnomo, Tomas Saraceno, Joseph Sumégné, Johan Simons and others
Artistic director Anna Tilroe invited 28 artists from all continents to present their ideas about the pursuit of 'Grandeur'. Specially for Sonsbeek 2008 they created a work of art that represents the striving for human greatness, based on a completely individual point of view. The involvement of the public and the city acquired a unique form: before being installed in the beautiful, old surroundings of Sonsbeek Park, the works of art were carried by the inhabitants of Arnhem through the old innercity in a solemn, but festive Procession on June 8.
