CONVERSA #31 at Mevrouw BOK Wednesday 25th of March 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with contributions by: Christina Giannelia, Fotini Gouseti (DAI, 2013) and Yoeri Guépin (DAI, 2013)

The posters of this next series of 10 Conversas were designed by Jack Clarke.

Jack Clarke is a designer and researcher studying and working in South East London; he says designing and researching but it's mostly just writing and often about things that he probably doesn't understand. The fourth series of Conversas has been designed as an attempt to visually express the character and function of each Conversa talk. Three unique and interlocking circles hold together in a stimulating chance encounter.

Christina moved to R’Dam in 2008 from Canada to attend the dance academy at Codarts. Since then, she has danced, co-founded an improvisation collective, produced various events, got an MA at Erasmus, worked as a fundraiser and learned to cook a really good pea soup.

Society is the research field for Fotini’s work. She often works on the seam (in)between ostensibly contradictory conditions, while based on constant communication with the life that surrounds her. The resulting art practice is characterized as political, but she’d rather state art as a way to live better.

Yoeri is a visual artist living and working in Rotterdam. Guépin received a B.F.A. from the H.K.U. and M.F.A. from the Dutch Art Institute (2013) in Arnhem. His work is research driven and has recently been shown in exhibitions at ENSAPC YGREC Paris (2015), Ormston House Gallery Limerick and Gallery Rianne Groen in Rotterdam (both 2014).

Conversas is a series of weekly informal meetings made so that we can get to know and discuss projects and interests.

During the event two/three Conversadores (those who talk at Conversas) bring something to share with the gathered group, for thirty minutes each. As the title suggests itself, Conversas (Conversations in Portuguese) aim at an equal set up from which both the Conversadores and the group, should be able to profit.

The fourth series of ten Conversas Rotterdam starts on the 25th of March, and runs every Wednesday until the 27th of May. This series is happening at Mevrouw BOK, a shared studio space, and are co-organized by studio-mates Bérénice Staiger, Constança Saraiva and Micaela Damásio.

Conversas is a project initiated in Lisbon by Constança Saraiva and Mafalda Fernandes, in 2012.
Nowadays, it's a project of many people and cities.
