Lawrence Abu Hamdan

Born in Amman, London based artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan's work is chiefly concerned with the politics of listening and the relationship between sound and urbanity.

Abu Hamdan has exhibited widely in the UK and abroad, including Aural Contract at the Showroom, Marches for Artangel Interaction and his co-curated exhibtion Model Court at CCA Glasgow. In addition to this Abu Hamdan is part of the group that inhabit and run the arts and events space at 113 Dalston lane in London, a hub of self organized (DIY) musical and Art practice releasing records and publications, organizing events,playing in bands and touring across Europe.
He is currently undertaking a PhD at the Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Lawrence Abu Hamdan was a guest lecturer at the DAI in 2011.
