MASTERMIND YOUR FUTURE - bootcamp

Sunday 15 April 

For 11 Dutch and international participants this is the second day of a three day intensive program with workshops, lecture-presentations and performances, one-on-one portfolio reviews tailored for 3rd and 4th year BFA students, BFA alumni and all those who are considering to join a Fine Arts gradute program to deepen their knowledge in art production and critical thinking.

Program:

12:00 – 14:00 brunch and round table/ a conversation between Margret Wibmer (artist & tutor ArtEZ  bachelor students) and Gabriëlle Schleijpen (Head of Program DAI) & discussion with the Bootcamp participants: perspectives on the European 'master landscape'.

14:00 – 19:00  IN BETWEEN/ Performing the real-everyday life formats of delivering knowledge and affect. An introduction to the workshop by Nikos Doulos & Joao Evangelista. During this lecture-performance workshop lead by Nikos Doulos and João Evangelista, the participants will focus on various systems of artistic research through formal and informal social encounters and examine in praxis the various models of performing the knowledge gained.
The day will feature a scrutinizing look on examples from the artists' collaborative and autonomous practice and will conclude with a series of performative exercises as a 'tool kit' for the artist in the role of a host, a moderator and a mediator.

BIO'S:

Nikos Doulos was born in Athens in 1978. He obtained a bachelor degree in painting from the Athens School Of Fine Arts (ASFA). 
In 2006 he was awarded with a scholarship in photography from the State Scholarship Institute (IKY) and was accepted in the two-year master program at the Dutch Art Institute / ArtEZ in the Netherlands.
He graduated from the master course in August 2008 and has been living in the Netherlands ever since. His current artistic practice can be described as a social engaged-research based one with a focus in urban transition areas.
Since summer 2011 he has been working as a project coordinator at EXPODIUM in Utrecht.

João Evangelista, born 1978 in Lisboa
Works in the field of live art since 1998 under different pseudonyms, using the mediums of theater, choreography and fine arts in his work. In the last 2 years, his praxis focused in mapping creative responses of communities within post-industrial locations such as Detroit (US), Heerlen (NL), Lisbon (PT) and Kuala Lumpur (MY), and decoding them into performative live art systems.
