APPLY until MAY 10, 2024 ~ We are thrilled to announce this exciting OPEN CALL from the Provisional School For Nothing. Organised by Sara Vaz and Marco Balesteros ~ collaborated with DAI alumni at Werkplaats Typografie, working on ways of publishing the artistic works ~, The School invites artists from diverse backgrounds to dissolve the boundaries between learning, making and listening. Departing from the discussions held during the pandemic with various artists on fictional schools, interior schools, and other educational concepts, this year participants are invited to explore (un)learning as an artistic transmission, a collective artistic object unfolding in the natural rural settings of Sabóia—Alentejo, Portugal, with a focus on collaborative experimentation, improvisation and co-creation as knowledge production. Artists from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply!

Detailed description of the project and additional information via link.

Provisional school for Nothing — self-organised deviated school that deals with co-creation and collaborative experimentation around performance, books, happenings, music, improvisation, cinema, regenerative practices, and all that we are curious about. The school brings together participants from all artistic fields to engage with a diverse group of provocative guests — musicians, dancers, visual artists, graphic designers, filmmakers, writers, instigators of the unexpected— to explore alternative ways of learning and creating together out in the open, into nomadic classrooms—beaches, countryside, wastelands, barns, ruins, abandoned warehouses, the riverbank.  In recent years, attendees have hailed from ENSBA Lyon, HfG Karlsruhe, Rietveld, ERG Brussels, Royal College of Art, and ESAD—Caldas da Rainha.
