Propaganda and Counter-Propaganda -- The Images of Saddam Hussein in the Media

Is a lecture at a conference at University of London by DAI Faculty member Florian Göttke.

The lecture will focus on the specific aspect of how the images of Saddam Hussein -- photographs, paintings, murals and statues featured in Iraqi public space and the Western media before, during and after the Second Iraq War.

Göttke's talk builds on themes of his recently published book Toppled about the fallen statues of Saddam Hussein that is based on a vast collection of images collected from the Internet.
