SCHEDULE DAI-WEEK 28 April - 3 May 2016

April 28: Thursday

On the first day of each DAI week, the students split up in groups for the so-called COOP Academy; three commissioned projects tailored around specific research questions, organised and tutored by partnering organisations The Van Abbemuseum, Open! and Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory.

13:00-14:00 Communal lunch at the DAI cooked by Karin & Annemarie (Pick Up catering)

14:00 Seminar Publishing Class: Between Animals or Beyond Being Human, framework by Open!

Today with curator and course leader Jorinde Seijdel, Associate PHD researcher Florian Göttke and guest tutor Mohammad Salemy. 

Location: Kortestraat - Living Room 

Eco-village Ppauw: 

Seminar Inland Class, framework by Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory. Today with core tutor Fernando García-Dory, curator and course leader Sanne Oorthuizen,  Binna Choi, Rick Dolphijn, Mali Boomkens, Henk Eshuis and the inhabitants of eco-village Ppauw

10.00 hrs Meet at Arnhem Centraal Station main entrance and take a bus to eco-village Ppauw (bus stop: “Wageningse Berg”)

11:00-12:30 Introduction to eco-village Ppauw by Henk Eshuis and Mali Boomkens and do some work together!

12:30-13:30 Lunch

13:30-15:30 Lecture by Rick Dolphijn: “Ecosophy: what is the matter with the earth?”

15:30-16:30 Fernando García-Dory introduces concept of June INLAND Nederland gathering (Sonsbeek park, 4 June 2016)

16:30-17:30 Collective discussion artistic interventions and contribution INLAND Class to INLAND Nederland gathering 4 June

18.30-19.30 Bus back to Arnhem

19.30  Dinner at the DAI 

20:00 - 21:00 Collective discussion continued

April 29: Friday

One on one meetings between students and (guest) tutors. On the Saturday of each DAI-week, the students split up in three groups for the projects that together form the so-called ROAMING ACADEMY.

10:00 -19:00 Seminar: ACTION UNITES, WORDS DIVIDE (ON PRAXIS, AN UNSTATED THEORY) II by If I Can't Dance I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution & Jon Mikel Euba

14:30 - 18:30: DAI's Associate PHD Research Collective closed session with the participation of regular members Florian Göttke and Lauren Alexander,  special guest Sarah Jones, and auditors Katia Barrett, Sarah DemoenBen Burtenshaw and Jan Adriaans. Today's invited respondents are Yuk Hui and Mohamed Salemy.

19:00-20:00 communal dinner cooked by Mari Pitkänen

20:00 - 23:00 Fluff & Frolic (with screening of "Eye Ball Hand Coordination"). 

Fluff & Frolic is the SONSBEEK 2016 Campsite's Soft & Social Fabric Makeover Workshop for ALL students.

Prepared and gently guided by Jacq van der Spek & Ricardo Liong-a-Kong.

DAI-week 9 at the Sonsbeek Park: our camp in the valley will have 5 tents ( each of them sleeps 8). Tonight 5 Work Groups are invited to co-create 5 intra-active SLEEP environments. Textiles & tools will be provided.

10:45-17:30 The Kitchen / Not The Restaurant; all students attend the lecture-presentations or lecture-performances by 8 students, this DAI-week's guest respondents are Patricia Reed and Inigo Wilkins, with Arnisa Zeqo in the audience. Arnisa will act as a coach to these eight presenters and return on May 12, 2016 for tutorials as well as on June 5 & 6, 2016 for a workshop on presenting/performing a lecture.
