The day will consist of a walking tour of the city centre curated by Katja van Driel, as a continuation of the project Open to the Public. The tour will lead the participants along a number of vacant buildings to encounter the conflicts, changes and barriers they stand for. In some of the venues, there will be presentations by the following invited speakers:

• John Thorp (Civic Architect, Leeds)
• Jeanne van Heeswijk (Artist, Rotterdam)
• Paul Swinney (Economist, Centre for Cities)
• Jen Southern (Artist, Lancaster).

Saturday 14th September – 9.30 am – 3.30 pm

The day will involve hands on workshops based in the city centre, which are aimed at uncovering new ways of solving the problems faced today, and examining what the city is now.
