Raisa Galofre

Raisa Galofre is an interdisciplinary artist, mother, photographer, and cultural worker born and raised in the Caribbean region of Colombia. Her artistic and curatorial practice responds to forms of silencing and erasure enacted and sustained by colonial and patriarchal systems, seeking to challenge and disrupt them. At the heart of her practice is an inquiry into storytelling—its politics, forms, and possibilities—as a way of producing and transmitting knowledge, preserving memory, shaping collective imaginaries, and negotiating power. Storytelling also becomes a site of struggle and a space from which to imagine other ways of knowing, relating, and being.

Through photography, moving image, sound, performance, and other forms of narrative experimentation, Raisadraws on the embodied knowledge, practices, technologies and voices of Abya Yala and the Caribbean to create narratives that embrace oral histories, gestures, images, sounds, bodies, rituals, dreams, myths, and everyday practices while challenging dominant Western frameworks of representation and knowledge production. Her work has been shown in The African Biennale of Photography; Bamako Encounters, the IIHS in Bangalore, India, Getxophoto International Photo Festival in Getxo–Basque Country, Centro Cultural Cayena, in Barranquilla,Colombia, Fotogalerie in Friedrichshain, Berlin, among others.

As a cultural worker, Raisa conceives, curates, and produces artistic and discursive projects that bring together diverse forms of knowledge-making, most of them grounded in practices of togetherness and embodied forms of knowledge expressed through dance and music. Recent curatorial projects include the exhibition Two new books, two new works plus an old one for good measure by Anup Mathew Thomas at daadgalerie, Berlin (2026); Society. Or Infinite Rehearsals (2024); and Magical Hackerism or the Elasticity of Resilience (2022), both at SAVVY Contemporary. Her work also encompasses the curation and production of discursive and performance programmes, including How to Love a Tree by Hira Nabi at daadgalerie (2025, production),  Between Riot and Choir at SAVVY Contemporary (2024, curation), to name a few.

Since 2018 Raisa has been part of the Berlin based independent art space SAVVY Contemporary, The Laboratory of Form-Ideas.
