DABARTIS: Letter #7 ~ Exits. In the ricochet between the desire to leave this world and the structural stasis and immobility that this very same world imposes, the essays in Letter no.7 Exits—by Frédéric Neyrat (translated by Francesco Scollo), Almaz and Despina Sanida Crezia (DAI, 2026), Dionys Mascolo (translated and introduced by Howard Slater), Micah Newberger and Korah Kremer—can be situated. They all address the necessity and desire of leaving this world from within the (im)possibilities of what might be termed the ‘Camatte dilemma’. They share the requisite tension that accompanies it in thought and practice, or rather thought as a practice of imaginative desertion. They do so in very different registers both from Camatte—nowhere is he explicitly cited—and from one another. Yet, all are located in the vanishing point that appears between exit and no exit, the never quite foreclosed overcoming of the limits of the existent. Such a vanishing point of exit/no exit might be characterised as the realisation that this world is predicated upon an inexorable rise in the rate of the unliveable, an unliveable that, somehow, still has to be lived.
