The Erasmus+ Traineeship Grant funds professional internships "abroad". You must apply and be approved/supported by your home university shortly before you graduate.

Erasmus+ grant

The Erasmus+ grant is part of the Erasmus+ programme. It gives you the chance to gain new knowledge and skills. The grant covers the period you spend abroad on an internship.

As a DAI student you can apply for the Erasmus+ grant if you want to take an internship in the EU after graduating.

To qualify for a post-graduation internship, these are the conditions you must meet:

- You have arranged the traineeship during your final year of study.

- You have completed the application for the Erasmus+ grant before you graduate (allow at least one month for this). Make sure all forms have been signed before your graduation. Nikos Doulos, DAI's study trajectory counsellor can assist you. Your internship plans must be approved by Leire Vergara, Head of Program of the DAI and after that by the Central Exam Committee of ArtEZ. Before signing, the DAI's Head of Program will carefully look into the professional relevance of the chosen institution. It is wise to open the discussion about your plans, several months prior to your graduation! DAI might come up with alternative organisations.

- Your traineeship is within the EU.

- You will be able to receive a grant for 2 months at most for an internship after graduation. Please note that you can receive a maximum of 12 months Erasmus+ grant per study cycle (BA, MA).

- The traineeship is full-time, i.e. at least 35 hours per week.

- You must live and work in the guest country for the entire period.

- Your traineeship does not have to directly follow up on your graduation, but your right to an Erasmus+ grant will expire one year after graduation. It is therefore advisable to complete your work placement within 1 year of graduating if you would like a grant for the entire traineeship period.

- The end date of the internship must fall within one year of graduation.

The aim of these internships is to make your transition to the 'labour market' easier.

You are not obliged to return to the Netherlands afterwards but can instead choose to remain in the host country if that is financially feasible.

If you are an international EU passport holding student at ArtEZ, you cannot receive an Erasmus grant for an internship in the country that issued your passport.
