Rana Kelleci ~ Surface Study

“The performance is centered around a drawing gesture that contemplates on studies and methods of topographic survey. The performers squeeze and lay open a large roll of paper forming creases and folds on its surface. The hand follows the highs and lows of the paper, guided by this sponteous formation. Informed by the historical practices employed to map, measure and document terrain, the performance inquires into the colonial-imperial cartography and knowledge production systems by exploring affective and intimate forms of knowing and listening.”

Rana Kelleci's Surface Study will be presented to a live audience at Centrale Fies (Dro, Italy) on June 21, 2026 as one of 41 acts curated by Elisa Giuliano for the AEROPONIC ACTS 2026: DAWN SEEDS, convened by Gabriëlle Schleijpen for the Dutch Art Institute.
