2025 - 2026 FACTORY student led: ASSEMBLING ON PALESTINE VII : Call to collective action: boycott, strike and solidarity

OCTOBER 2, 2025

Led by Jip van der Hek, Ratri Notosudirdjo & Sarmistha Bose

When: 16:30 - 17:30

Location: Media Room

We all heard the words. Genocide. Livestream. Occupation. Empire. Famine. Resilience.

We all saw the images. Children. Rubble. Blood.

As we try to lend form to our feelings, we notice that all forms have collapsed. We have no language to express what we witness, for this should never exist. Not in life, not in literature.

Standing here and now, all we have is a call to action.

With the growing momentum of the BDS movement, institutional and academic ties with genocidal regimes are starting to become more and more transparent. The PACBI guidelines have provided a path to weaken these ties, to make the economy of genocide not profitable for its stakeholders.

At this crucial moment, how do we move intersectionally among class struggles, racial struggles, gender struggles, and for freedom of expression? How do we hold space for diversity in different levels, forms, and layers of precarity within the resistant faction of cultural workers and students? Can we, collectively, imagine an alternative cultural space?

Assembling on Palestine is an ongoing conversation led by DAI students in response to the ongoing, livestreamed genocide and the urgent need for solidarity. It is a space where we come together to re-think our forms of convening, to create and sustain spaces of resistance, and to imagine and practice collective solidarity. Together and collectivelly.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2025-2026 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component WEAVER and participation is credited with ECTS.
