2025 - 2026 FACTORY student led: The Between-Body: a lab

SEPTEMBER 28, 2025

Led by Agnese Krivade

When: 20:30 - 22:00

Location: 2nd floor ’Sainte Louise' room

This session combines the physical tools of contact improvisation with ideas from the book Towards a Transindividual Self by Ana Vujanović and Bojana Cvejić, who invite us to think of the “self” as porous, co-constituted, and always emerging in relation.

Through touch and weight-sharing—supported by gentle anatomical awareness—we will enter into dances that don’t belong to any one body. Selves will appear, shift, and scatter in relation.

This lab is part of my thesis research on Recovering from Abstraction. The body is not a metaphor. It is the primary site of life which is then later reduced and summarised into language.  When the grounding origin is forgotten, a split emerges where all kinds of -isms take root. I trust that by returning to the roots of our embodied being, we can repair and recalibrate our thoughts, emotions, and relations. Touch is our first language—more shifting and nuanced than conversations made only of words. Are you ready to have a conversation?

We will begin with solo-work: grounding in breath and anatomy, regaining clarity in gravity. From there, we will move into duos and perhaps even larger constellations.

Come as you are—no prior experience needed. The level of challenge will be adapted to your desires.

Please refrain from attending under the influence of alcohol.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2025-2026 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component WEAVER and participation is credited with ECTS.
