MASEREEL is a centre for contemporary art that combines an artist-oriented artistic programme with an international residency programme for artists and critics, with a special focus on printed matter at large. Are you a visual artist looking for time, space, and new challenges to further develop your artistic practice? MASEREEL invites you to apply for a six-week residency taking place between June and December 2026 in Kasterlee in Belgium.

The development residencies form the core of MASEREEL’s residency program and are intended for contemporary artists who want to deepen and broaden their work during an intensive working period. In a stimulating environment, surrounded by international peers, master printers, and guest lecturers, you will have the opportunity to experiment, reflect, and engage in dialogue with fellow artists.

MASEREEL residents represent a diverse mix of international, intergenerational, and experimental artists — from talented newcomers to established names — creating a rich diversity of practices and valuable artistic exchanges.

Each residency period accommodates up to nine artists, who stay in MASEREEL’s brand-new artist pavilion featuring private mini-apartments and shared spaces, ideal for both focus and social interaction.

HERE you will find all details about residency periods, selection criteria and participation costs.
