2026 ~ Confluence#5 ~ April 13 -April 23

Where: after the unexpected, very late cancellation due to force majeure, by our hosts in the North of France, we had to act swiftly: a rapid, decisive response was needed to enable our program to continue as scheduled. We are relieved that after some frantic searching we have found a holiday park close to the city of Breda (where you'll find the nearest train station with very regular connections to Brussels / Zaventem, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport). Regardless of the extremely short notice, "Katjeskelder" proofed able to accommodate ALL of us (students, tutors, guests, crew) between the 13th and 23th of April 2026.

We will be living and studying together in a few large and some smaller cottages (all with enough facilities to keep us clean and warm) + one additional shared work space, located at walking distance (25 minutes through the forest).

Holiday Park De Katjeskelder in Oosterhout near Breda.

Additional location for classrooms + Kitchen:  Landgoed de Meerberg in Teteringen.

The park and the Meerberg are located in the Vrachelse Heide, a nature reserve located southwest of Oosterhout in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant. The area features a mix of coniferous forests, heathlands, and drifting sand dunes, offering a variety of landscapes to explore. The reserve is home to diverse flora and fauna, including species like the black woodpecker, crested tit, and Eurasian nuthatch. It offers several marked walking and mountain biking routes, catering to different skill levels. The terrain varies from flat and sandy paths to more challenging hilly segments, providing opportunities for both leisurely walks and more strenuous hikes. The area also includes historical sites, such as a Jewish cemetery established in the early 19th century

FROM KATJESKELDER TO THE MEERBERG: ON THE MAP

The work spaces available for classrooms and presentations are perhaps not ideal, but we felt that we needed "all hands on deck" to allow us to stick to our initial planning. Together we can make it work!

After a long day of study you can take a dip in the park's covered pool (bring your swim gear !) or go for a walk in the adjacent woods and moorlands.

Oosterhout, the nearby town can be reached by bus, bike or a brisk walk, but a small supermarket and a bar are also available at the holiday park itself.
