Lisa Vlamings ~ Keywords: touch, fragmentation, dissociation as strategy, bits, digital bodies, spiritual presence, boundaries, echoes, preperception

Lisa Vlamings is an artist currently based in Amsterdam, NL. Drawn to the edges, what resists to be named, she investigates how we sense, trust and record our surroundings. ’The horizon moves when we move’; how to look deeply rather than merely recognise.

Her practice centers on moments of disruption, decay and instability—when perception fractures or slips. Working across installation, performance and code she explores the shifting ways in which we are digitally, spiritually and physically present. The ways we distinguish between what we are and what we are not.

Her current research involves echoes of deep fake, the time lost in synchronisation and dissociation as a strategy.

Lisa Vlamings has a background in both fine arts and programming. She studied fine arts MA at Goldsmits University of Londen, BA Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and programming at Codam, Amsterdam. She took part in groupshows at W139, Boijmans van Beuningen Museum, Valkhof Museum, Johan Deumens Gallery etc. Her work is part of collection Bibliothèque National, FR, Paris, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, NL, Den Haag and Yale University Gallery, New Haven, U.S.
