Clara Rudin Smith ~ Keywords: form, sequencing, dynamics, poetry, life writing, psychoanalysis, audio culture, cities, abolition
Clara Rudin Smith (b. 1995, UK) is an artist based in London. In her work as a writer and a DJ she is interested in storytelling through collage, and how narrative and affect can be constructed through the sequencing of material. She is concerned with political forms and the politics of form, to ask how we build a more liveable world and reclaim radical expression. An ongoing attention to language and humour has brought her (with resistance) to poetry writing and a burgeoning study of psychoanalysis. Her play Fall Asleep, Forever Chemical was published by Physical_Interface in 2025. Between 2020 and 2023 Clara worked with Hannah Marine on What Comes to Mind, a free-associative, archival audio essay project for radio. In London, they co-organise club nights Plastic Village and Strategies, and are part of the team behind music events at Black Tower Projects. She has built custom sound systems for Black Tower Projects and RTM.FM, and has guested on NTS Radio and Montez Press Radio.
