Confluence nr. 5 ~ Vleeshal in Middelburg. May 19 till 27, 2025

DAI Confluence#5 ~ May 19 till 27, 2025

For Confluence#5, DAI returns (after one year) to Middelburg, the capital of the Dutch province of Zeeland, where we will again be most generously hosted by Vleeshal, Center for Contemporary Art, while enjoying the brilliant company and care of the current Vleeshal team consisting, among others of assistant curator Roeliena Aukema, head curatorial office Martha Jager (DAI, 2016) and interim director Julia Mullié. Here we (students, tutors, guests and crew) are to contribute to the defining four curricular pillars under our program, and the conversations, discussions and movements extending within, around and beyond them. Gratitude also goes out to University College Roosevelt (UCR), located next door to Vleeshal in Middelburg. It is a bless to be able to make use of their well-equipped classrooms, in addition to the communal work & presentation space of our main host.

Please find here some basic background information about Vleeshal, Middelburg and the Province of Zeeland, compiled for us by Vleeshal.
