January Chronicle by Alva Roselius, Anna Buyvid and Nada Gambier

Why did you want to share this song?

it's been playing on a loop for a last couple of weeks

How a voice can strech in a collective assambly, and what moves beyond the use of language.

It inspired me to start writing a song/poem that I shared with the group the first session.

I love how the emotions related to the lyrics are shaping the voice.
the grooviness, the bounciness, the funkiness

The Sacrificial Code by Kali Malone is an intense organe piece. The organ is a breathing instrument. This instrument alone contains an entire crowd of voices, is a choir in itself, and this is underlined with great intensity in the piece.

Because i like the way the person is able to mimic the bird called nightingale.
I feel Yeule is a very innovative artist in pop music and gives voice to some downsides of living in a digital era, where distortion is lurking.

I don’t know.

What is the mood of the song? Why do you think that is?

It's anticipation, somewhat controlled excitement. The melody is unfolding in a spiral, taking larger and larger loops. It's like an architecture - you can climb it up

Mysterious nostalgia - some how this song makes me feel familiar to something, but i canno t quite grasp what it is and where it comes from. it carries a feeling of mysterious

It's melancholic, I think partly because of the lyrics, but it's enhanced by the brat and the guitar.

There are several moods in the song, depending on the moment of the story. But these moods are related to the lyrics. Also the Rhythm is for marking important moments in the whole story related to a strong self determination into a new consciousness

unapologetic. the beat, the tone of the voice, the words

I find it heavy melancholic and it drags me somewhere else. I think it comes from the minimalistic composition, mainly in minor chords. The rhythm is very slow and guides the listener into a deep, sad, almost meditative state of mind.

It's sort of lonely and even painful but I think that’s because of the quality of the recording.

I would say it’s quite melancholic. The live version of DeBussy transitioning in yeule’s own song Eyes is very interesting to me. You can definitely see this artist has a classical background, but it’s so interesting how she takes this classical and takes it to a new present level.

It’s the intimacy of not knowing

Describe a memory you have with or of the song. Real or imagined.

it's an overture, I remember it was performed live. It was powerful and totally unexpected. And it was my first time in the Opera Theatre in Amsterdam too

in my memory it is spring, and a lot of lovely people are outside in a garden. Suddenly they build this structure with there sounds. at a certain point we walk into the structure and fill the space with a ritualistic absurd costume play.

I heard it the first time traveling home from the first confluence of the year. I was hungover and spent 26 hours on a train from France to Sweden. I listened to it over and over again.

the collapsed memory of all the times when the shower becomes a concert hall, and there is a moment of enveloping in my own voice

I was in an old baroque church. The place was abandoned, there was a huge ancient organ on a balcony, I found the stairs to get in to it. There was a perso who started playing the song as I entered.

I have a memory with the bird song that the singer is imitating, but not with this particular song that I found from the archive. It’s a memory of a evening forest where the light creeps through the branches and leaves. The sun is orange, low and almost gone.

It reminds me of the time I was so involved in the internet, in an obsessive way I wouldn’t say was healthy.

I’m at the fireplace, wearing a cowboy hat, I have an implanted beard made of butterfly tentacles, I’m half crying and half singing while strumming the only chords I know on my guitar. It’s raining yet nobody leaves. We want to stay together. We don’t know.

Does the song have a color? If So, which color?

hues of metallic greys and greens

A whole spectrum of blue

Blue, Grayish blue.

a bright purple

reddish-purple

Pale yellow

Red

It has the colours of fireplace light reflecting in human faces

Do you have a poem (fragment) that associates with your chosen song?

Awake
Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see

" words can travel even where our bodies can't "

How to remember your first steps
How to keep walking
How to confess you’re in love
How to stay in love
How to stay

The King and Queen sat beheaded firmly / embraced, enlaced in a fit of action troublesome / to their fitsome senses. A fire to my dandy / lover! responded the Queen to her lover’s / embraces, a fire the wine which scurries / in the veins of my beheaded head! […]

tjuk-tjuk-tjuk

I feel like the love performance says it all.

Fuck abstraction, long live being (a poem by me now)
