Ania Yilmaz ~ Keywords: speculative interpretation, painting, writing, temporality, language, the void, structure.

Ania Yilmaz is a painter and thinker from Poland, currently based in the Netherlands. Her practice emerges from her life, in which she has been looking at what is around her (people, symbolic structures etc), what might have been under and what could be (instead).

Her work is influenced by her studies in Archaeology (University of Warsaw), Sociology and illustration (Willem de Kooning) and interest in psychoanalysis and language, which resurface in different forms, modes and contexts. She studied Art Praxis at the Dutch Art Institute (2022 - 2024), where her MA thesis considered the construction of symbolic order out of archaeological remains found on the island of Lipari.

Ania's paintings were shown in Pictura, Dordrecht and Verhalenhuis, Rotterdam among others.
