2020-2022 Chiara Pagano ~ Keywords: (mis)performative, fugitivity, discrepancy, pulled tongue, polyvocality of the vessel, words-touch, popular music, cross-identification

Chiara Pagano is an artist and researcher whose work moves in the intersection between performance, experimental writing, and music composition.

Dealing with feminist epistemologies and corporeality, and moving into the territories of performance, sound, and queer studies as well as critical race theory, her research reconsiders cultural memory and politics recorded from the mid-twentieth century onwards, specifically in Italy. With a particular focus on industrialization, gender relations, sound, and popular culture, it addresses questions of language, archive, and identity formation, advocating the creation of counter-narratives and practices of self-emancipation.

Her visual and editorial works have been shown in several exhibitions. She has been a guest lecturer for the 11th European Feminist Research Conference at the University of Milano Bicocca (2022).
