2021-2022 Factory 2:0: FORMAL PRACTICES

Led by Izaro Ieregi Gonzalez

When: November 11th  (14:00 - 16:00)

This is a space/time to develop and reflect on our individual practices through different strategies. It is intended as an experimental place to work on our personal practices collectively. A place where we will try to move from thinking to doing.

Different exercises or work strategies will be proposed to reinforce aspects of our process. These strategies may generate strangeness, commonplaces or rejection among the participants. This will be a place to have a non-judgmental attitude and to concentrate on what we have at hand in the present moment. Approaching our work from unexpected places can help us strengthen our processes. A set of practices that combines attention, displacement and strangeness. A space in which to put all our concentration on the concrete of our respective works.

It is a structured session that requires previous material to work with. Bring your own material. A fragment of a video, a movement, a sound, an image, a text you are working on, etc. It doesn't matter if it is in a germinal state or if it is already a developed process. Remember that we are going to work with this, so it is important that all participants bring some personal work to this space.

This student initiative is facilitated by DAI by making it part of the syllabus 2021-2022 and by providing space and time for gathering. It is embedded in the curriculum component Factory 2.0 and participation is credited with ECTS.
