When a symposium becomes a series — updates on Mythologies/Methodologies. Our esteemed partner If I Can't Dance I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution shares that in response to the rapidly rising COVID numbers in Amsterdam, the Mythologies/Methodologies one-day symposium has transformed into a four-part live-stream series, which unfolds over a month of Saturday afternoons from 16.00-18.30hr through October and November. This new configuration offers each presentation as a weekly instalment. With Giulia Damiani, Genevieve Hyacinthe, Chandra Frank, Ros Murray and Gloria Wekker.
The series includes If I Can’t Dance 2019–20 Research Fellow Giulia Damiani in dialogue with scholar Genevieve Hyacinthe in week one; film historian and critic Ros Murray and a streaming of the documentary film Delphine et Carole, insoumuses (2019) by Callisto McNulty in week two; and scholar and curator Chandra Frank joined by professor and writer Gloria Wekker in week three, and concludes with a roundtable conversation between Damiani, Frank and Murray on performance-based research methodologies.
