Babe, there’s still space remaining... The 4 Hour Bar: An Evening in 4 Movements

An exploration of fluid authorship, the 4 Hour Bar attempts to become a temporary manifestation of the overlap and differences of three practices, thoughts, positions and desires.

You will be welcomed into a space that could be the sinus cavity of a snail, or the belly button of a lifeguard. Throughout the night, different moods will unfold and actions will take place. You will be served so much more than drinks, and in return, we ask nothing but your presence, which will help us form a short-lived, fluctuating community facilitated by the environment into which we invite you. Let’s be ensemble as they say in France, and share a special place for a hot sec or 2...

Visitors may drop by at any given moment between 20h and 24h and engage in whatever way they feel inspired to through the setting.

The 4 Hour Bar is a collaborative project initiated by Pedro Matias, developed with Merdan Akbayir and Rabea Ridlhammer for the dance and performance event COME TOGETHER #4, hosted by Theater Frascati in Amsterdam and curated by Nicole Beutler, Keren Levi, Eva Vilanueva (BAU), Eva Susova (Jacuzzi), Riccardo Guratti (NeverLike), Justa Ter Haar (Nicole Beutler Projects).

The starting point of Babe, there is still SPACE remaining... The 4 hour BAR - An Evening in 4 Movements, was bridging embodied critical thinking and space, by giving agency to the (queer) body through labour, care and activation of, perhaps, a territory and its (inner) landscapes. Babe, the SPACE remaining is yet-to-be(come) fluffed is durational, collaborative, fluid, diagonal and intermittent in its core. By using time as liquid matter, we upset the consumerist tempo, facilitating new constellations and dialogues to spill. Invited guests and audiences are encouraged to transform the flows of the work from within and together we hope to be(come) precursors of a community, not-yet-here.
