2017-2019 Matthieu Blond (France)

During his MA in Architecture at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architceture de Versailles, Matthieu Blond attended a number of international workshops in Tashkent, Rio de Janeiro, and Delft. This academic trajectory was preceded by Choreographic and Performance education at the School for New Dance Development (Amsterdam), and the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Such double-sided aspect of his practice has led him to work with architecture bureaus such as Agence Arch’Concept and Berger&Berger in Paris (the latter is a hybrid project between architecture and the visual arts), as well as to touring with dance and performance groups throughout Europe. In addition to this, Matthieu has been developing his autonomous practice with performance, and more particularly, lecture performance, as preferred medium. Currently, he is invested in a new project called Journal, which experiments with performance as publication. It is a performance journal in which each issue, which gathers contributions by artists, curators, writers, and theorists, is presented as a 45-minute-long performance.
