Irati Irulegui’s curatorial work is essentially collaborative. She is part of Idensitat, a Barcelona-based research platform focused on the public sphere by means of socially engaged projects, which involves establishing relationships with the inhabitants of the areas they collaborate with. Within Idensitat, she has co-curated projects at the Fundació Antoni Tàpies (Barcelona). She also began a collaboration with other curators, Iker Fidalgo and Laura Diez, which resulted in the exhibition Out of the Loop, in Montehermoso Art Centre (Vitoria-Gasteiz), and was part of the process-based initiative Komisario Berriak, a production laboratory within the framework of the Donostia/San Sebastián European Cultural Capital. Along with other emerging curators and artists in Komisario Berriak, Irati organised workshops, reading groups, performances, and public art programmes. as well as educational initiatives, such as the National Museum of Art of Catalonia’s funded Summer Camp. Irati Irulegui holds a BA in Art History from the University of Barcelona.
