2017-2019 Leeron Tur-Kaspa (USA)
Lurking inside domestic order, Leeron Tur-Kaspa’s still life installations rely on queer eros and object-oriented ontology. Her colourful and playful sculptures become transitional props inside a cryptic narrative of cultural and emotional landscapes. Always present inside her work is an implicit invitation for the sceptical viewer to peek behind the curtain, smell, touch, or lift whatever lies before her. Leeron holds a BA from Yale University. For the past five years, she has been working as a freelance translator and editor. She has contributed to a number of publications and has received awards such as the Scholastic Art & Writing Award (Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, USA). Leeron was an active member of Hanina Cooperative gallery from 2015–17, and served as a Communication Outreach and Administrative Manager at Artspace Tel Aviv (also from 2015–17), a non-profit art gallery that partners with artists who operate from neighbouring studios to host changing exhibitions, art tours, and cultural lectures and activities.
