Casco issues Call for contributions to the Practitioner’s Labs as part of Practicing the Commons: Self-Governance, Cooperation, and Institutional Change the XVI Biennial Conference of the International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC), Utrecht, 10-14 July 2017. Deadline March 31

| tag: Utrecht

This summer, Casco is contributing to Practicing the Commons by organizing Commons for Children, a program tailor made for children to accompany the conference’s many other activities by participant-commoners from all around the world. Conceived with artists Aimée Zito Lema and Merel Zwarts, Casco will operate a creative day care center and parallel ‘conference’ on the commons for children, wherein core ideas from the IASC conference such as self-governance and cooperation are taken up as playful pedagogical methods.

During the conference there is also space for practitioners, not only scholars, of the commons to present their work and to discuss the challenges and questions they encounter with academics working on these issues, as well as with fellow practitioners and policy makers. We hope communities in the field of art and culture can also join us there!

There are many different ways to contribute to the Practitioner’s Labs. Please find further information on the Practicing the Commons website.

Please note the proposal deadline: 31 March 2017.
