“Prometheanism is simply the claim that there is no reason to assume a predetermined limit to what we can achieve or to the ways in which we can transform ourselves and our world.” (Ray Brassier, 2014, Prometheanism and its Critics).

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of Bassam El Baroni and his guests I would like to remind you of Roaming Assembly#5 - PROMETHEANISM 2.0, the public symposium which will take place tomorrow, May 1 at Showroom Arnhem (within less than one minute walking distance from the DAI, Kortestraat 27 in Arnhem).

Curated and presented by Bassam El Baroni, PROMETHEANISM 2.0 includes lectures and new artworks. Moderation: Mohammad Salemy. Elaborate introduction (also in Dutch), program details and all practicalities are to be found here:

ROAMING ASSEMBLY#5 PROMETHEANISM 2.0

The Roaming Assembly sessions function as it were as the DAI-week's 'centerfold'. This month's guest contributors Jan Adriaans, Katia Barrett, Ben Burtenshaw, Patricia Reed, Mohammad Salemy, Inigo Wilkins, Pete Wolfendale and Yuk Hui, will also teach, audit or respond to student-presentations, next to our core tutors and other guests:

Nick Aikens, Frederique Bergholtz, Binna Choi, Bassam El Baroni, Rick Dolphijn, Jon Mikel Euba, Fernando García-Dory, Susan Gibb, Florian GöttkeTina Gverović, Ruth Noack, Christian Nyampeta, Itziar Okariz, Sanne Oorthuizen, Rachel O'Reilly, Sarah Pierce, Niels Schrader, Jorinde Seijdel, Mi You, Marina Vishmidt and Arnisa Zeqo.

We are furthermore thrilled to welcome our cherished alumna Sarah Jones, who will present a new project during  a session of the DAI's Associate PHD Research Collective.

Together with all of the aforementioned tutors and guests, DAI-students will embark on another week-long trajectory which is best described as a vigorous weaving of seminars, publishing classes, lectures, workshops, performances, presentations, face to face conversations and communal meals taking place in Arnhem (or elsewhere if we are "roaming") on a monthly base. DAI-week gatherings work as an experimental learning environment, think tank, networking platform, theory camp and temporary art commune.

Please find the details on this month's itinerary in DAI-BULLETIN NR. 8
