April 5-9: BAK and the Amsterdam-based refugee collective We Are Here collaboratively host the experimental education program Here We Are Academy

| tag: Utrecht

Here We Are Academy is organized in the context of the public program of the ongoing exhibition Unstated (or, Living Without Approval),

Here We Are Academy consists of a series of lectures and workshops led by members of We Are Here, in collaboration with representatives of Campus in Camps, an organization that provides alternative education in refugee camps in Palestine. In the position of teachers, undocumented refugees consider the question of representation within art and politics with regards to their continuous struggle. Here We Are Academy is organized with students from Learning Place, BAK’s school for art and politics.

The program runs from 5 to 9 April, daily from 12.00 to 20.00 hrs. For participation in the intensive workgroups, each devoted to one specific subject for the full five days, a limited number of places is reserved for the public. The daily lectures held between 13.00 and 14.15 hrs are open to all. The gatherings on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday take place at BAK, while on Wednesday and Thursday the meetings are hosted by We Are Here in one of their buildings in Amsterdam.

Attending a lecture or participating in one of the workgroups is free of charge, but a reservation or registration is required. Please email info@bakonline.org
