Atelier Concorde invites you to 'Only when the cicadas are gone', exhibition by Patrícia Pinheiro de Sousa next Thursday 3 March at 22:00hrs. The day before, 2 March at 19:00hrs, the artist will discuss her work in a talk at Auditório Lagoa Henriques, Fine Art Faculty of Lisbon University.

The exhibition features several works where storytelling is used as a way to explore the ‘south’ as an economical and political fictional landscape, with text, documents and images addressing issues of dislocation and fragmentation of memory. Patrícia Pinheiro de Sousa  works with sound, performance, installation, text and artists’ books. Her work reflects an interest in collective memory mediated according to different political and historical moments. Her work has been presented amongst others at Fundación Botín (Spain), Culturgest (Lisbon), CASCO, Office for Art, Designa and Theory (Utrecht), and TENT Rotterdam (with the collective Oblique International).

Atelier Concorde is a collective and interdisciplinary workspace, founded by a group of artists in January 2010. It currently houses sixteen artists and besides their studios has a project room for the Atelier’s exhibitions and events, as well as occasional residencies.
