2:30 - 7 pm

To conclude her exhibition at the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, La distance entre V et W, Yael Davids has conceived this story-like symposium, La diaspora des objets. “Objects” must be apprehended here in the broadest sense: personal possessions loaded with affect, images conveying a history yet to be written, the bricks and stones of a structure each time reconfigured by its occupants, the foster-land of an ideological project… La diaspora des objets will thus be an entire afternoon devoted to reflecting on the movements, the temporal and geographic shifts that domestic and cultural goods undergo.
The symposium will be with the participation of Yael Davids (artist), Irit Rogoff (visual arts professor, theorist and curator), Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh (artist), Malkit Shoshan (architect and researcher). Moderated by Mathilde Villeneuve (co-director of Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers). More information

This symposium will be held the last day of the Yael Davids’ solo exhibition, La distance entre V et W, which marks the culmination of her residency at the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers — an investigation into the dynamics of distance, rootedness and the production of boundaries and borders which ultimately developed into an installation that takes hold of space.
The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and by appointment (contact 01 53 56 15 90 or reservation@leslaboratoires.org). More information
