WHERE: The Bishopsgate Institute, 230 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 4QH

PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED: 5 October 2014

"A precious thing - distilling anger into action."

This Is Not A Gateway invites submissions for the 5th and final Festival. The festival is a platform for critical insights and proposals related to our ever-increasing urbanised lives.

The previous 4 Festivals have included installations, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, walks, debates and roundtable discussions. An average of 150 people contribute and around 2000 people participate across the two days.

The Festival prioritises lived knowledge/experience; the proposals of the oppressed, overlooked and the fighter/warrior and anything by anyone that critically challenges the status quo understanding of 'cities'.

The Festival is independent to ensure rigour and freedom of thought. It is free to apply, free to participate and free to attend the 2-day event.

The final Festival has two overarching themes from which a number of other topics derive.

1) The Academic Industrial Complex 2) White Supremacy and White Privilege
