Tuesday 11 March at 7:30pm - From Drawing To Diagram - a DAI PUBLIC talk by Ricardo Basbaum at the DAI's auditorium in the context of the Publishing Class
DAI Auditorium
Kortestraat 27
6811 EP Arnhem
Since the early 1990s Ricardo Basbaum has been developing artworks and writings around issues of communication, collective action, and participation, which he often considers through the lens of contagion theory and the organic line concept. His research comprises diagrams, installations, objects, videos, performative actions, groups dynamics, writings, sound pieces, and other cross-media experiments.
Tonight, in a brief presentation on aspects of his artistic process, Basbaum will speak about the presence of diagrams in his practice, departing from an initial drawing that repeatedly permeates his objects and installations.
Ricardo Basbaum (São Paulo, Brazil 1961) is an artist and writer, investigating art as an intermediating device and platform for the articulation between sensorial experience, sociability and language. Since the late 1980s, he has been nurturing a vocabulary specific to his work, applying it in a particular way to each new project. Basbaum lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
This lecture is organized by Casco in the context of the Publishing Class.
