The festival Possible Futures-Vooruit presents (amongst more): SCRIPT & HOST ME AND I COOK FOR YOU / 2 projects by Veridiana Zurita (DAI, 2010)

Dear ALL!

Between the 10th October and the 26th September I will be showing the video installation SCRIPT and the documentation of the project HOST ME AND I COOK FOR YOU in the context of the festival Possible Futures - Vooruit. There is a lot to see in the festival so come with time to check the other works as well.

SCRIPT is a docu-fiction. Two woman meet; the mother: a catholic psychoanalist and her daughter: an artist. During two weeks both occupy their social, familial and affective roles. From proposed, accidental, enacted and re-enacted situations they experiment a flexible relation between self and other. From the Real a fictional relation is created where the characters are disrupted from their permanent reality and personified again and again. Ten hours of shooting result from the encounter. Mother and daughter edit separately the material and create two versions of the same encounter.

HOST ME AND I COOK FOR YOU is a strategy to generate different logics of living. Between the functioning of the domestic space and the public dynamic of hosting there is a fracture, a grey area, a space for breath. Entering the house of someone and, although as a host (or an intruder), appropriating the space of feeding dislocates self and other from its property and role in it. The host is being hosted in its own space. It is a process of mutuality where to welcome and to enter are co-existing parameters.

In its 2nd edition HOST ME AND I COOK FOR YOU happens in Ghent where during fifteen days I will cook and sleep in different houses. To follow it go to http://hostmeandicookforyou.blogspot.be/.

Hope to see you there!

Warmest,

Veridiana
