 Chris Meighan participates at THE ISLAND festival (organized by FAT FORM) with his latest movie titled 'Michigan Left'. 'Michigan left' is a personal record of Meighan as a temporary resident in this unique city, a European "late colonist" in a world familiar and yet strangely distant.

"I wanted to produce some tangible response to my time in the city. But the moral difficulties in doing so were as great as the practical ones: what right does an outsider have to pass judgement after so short a time? ... My answer is Michigan left- a film which does not attempt to being anything other than a personal response to arrival on some strange urban island. This is not a documentary. It is the passage of time through my eyes alone."
'Michigan Left' is an outcome of Chris Meighan's participation at Expodium's Detroit residency. During the opening the artist will perform alongside the film.
