Rockarty festival Enschede: Jan Lee Owen Jonker
De Gezanten is an initiative of the Architectuurcentrum Twente in which the centre operates as a commisioner and invites artists to contribute with temporary works (in public space) and installations to festivals and manifestations in Enschede. Young artists, designers and architects, living in or formerly studying in Enschede can be invited to come up with proposals that relate to the mentality of the festival at stake and mediate btween city and festival.
DAI-alumnus Jan Lee Owen Jonker, currently living in Canada designed a set of 3 panels based on the architecture that was ‘created’ by the fireworks disaster that took place in Enschede in 2000. For this architecture there was no design, no drawing. The panels will be located on the ‘Cultuurlint’ Oude Markt to Roombeek.
Jan Lee Owen Jonker will come to Enschede during the festival.
